みなさん、こんにちは。私はエディンバラ大学の三年生のリリーです。今学期、成蹊大学で留学しています。成蹊大学は吉祥寺（きちじょうじ）にあるので、よく吉祥寺で遊びます。吉祥寺は東京の中で一番良い住み方で知られています。綺麗な景色があるし、たくさんのお店と美味しいレストランがあるからです。成蹊大学で留学するにかかわらず、吉祥寺に来てください。私は日帰りの計画を作りました！
Hello everyone! I am Lily, a 3rd year student from the University of Edinburgh. This semester, I am studying abroad at Seikei University. Since Seikei University is in Kichijoji, I often hang out in this area. Kichijoji is known as the best place to live in Tokyo. This is because there is beautiful scenery, as well as many shops and restaurants. Even if you are not studying at Seikei University, please come visit Kichijoji. I have organised a day trip for you!
どうやって吉祥寺に行けるか
初めに、どうやって吉祥寺に行けますか。東京の中央から二つの行き方があります。新宿駅から立川（たちかわ）行きや高尾（たかお）行きの中央線に乗って、吉祥寺駅で降ります。その電車は15分ぐらいかかります。他に渋谷駅から吉祥寺行きの井の頭（いのかしら）線に乗って、終点で降ります。その電車は20分ぐらいかかります。
Firstly, how can you get to Kichijoji? From the centre of Tokyo, there are two ways of getting to Kichijoji. From Shinjuku Station, you can take the Chuo Line bound for Tachikawa or Takao and then get off at Kichijoji Station. This train takes around 20 minutes. The other option is to go from Shibuya Station, take the Inokashira Line bound for Kichijoji and get off at the last stop. This journey takes around 30 minutes.
三鷹の森ジブリ美術館
大学で日本語を勉強したら、スタジオジブリをよく知っているでしょう。三鷹の森ジブリ美術館（びじゅつかん）は吉祥寺にあるから、是非来てください。オンラインでチケットが買えて、大人のチケットは1000円だけです。美術館に常設展（じょうせつてん/permanent exhibition）と企画展 （きかくてん/temporary exhibition）があります。映画を作り方とかキャラクターデザインの進み方が見えます。スタジオジブリの映画に関するカフェも店もあります。だから、たくさんのお金を持っていくのはいいと思います。美術館の中で写真を撮ってはいけないので、外だけの写真を紹介します。
If you study Japanese at university, you are most likely familiar with Studio Ghibli films. The Studio Ghibli Museum is in Kichijoji, so therefore I definitely recommend going. You can buy tickets online, and it is only 1000 yen for an adult ticket. The museum has both permanent exhibitions and temporary exhibitions. You can see the way that the studio made the films as well as the progression of their characters designs. There is also a Studio Ghibli themed café and shop so I would recommend bringing lots of money with you. Since you are not allowed to take photos inside the museum, I will show you some photos of the outside only.
井の頭公園
三鷹の森ジブリ美術館の後で、井の頭公園で遊ぶのは楽しいです。実は、ジブリ美術館は井の頭公園にあるので、とても便利です。井の頭公園はすごく大きい公園なので、いろいろな活動が出来ます。ジブリ美術館の近くにテニスコートがあります。そして、テニスが出来ます。可愛い犬を飼っている人は井の頭公園で犬と散歩しているので、たくさんの可愛いい犬が見えます。桜を咲いている季節でみなさんが集まってピクニックします。しかし、いつでも井の頭公園が美しくて、ピックニックは楽しい活動です。井の頭公園は湖もあります。スワンボートに乗れて、綺麗な景色が見えます。
After visiting the Studio Ghibli Museum, hanging out in Inokashira Park is very fun. Actually, since the Studio Ghibli Museum is in Inokashira Park, it is very convenient. Inokashira Park is a very large park, and therefore there are lots of things to do. Near the Studio Ghibli Museum, there are tennis courts, so you can play tennis if you like. People who own very cute dogs often walk them in the park and therefore you can see them. During Sakura season, everyone gathers in the park and has picnics. However, Inokashira Park is beautiful all year round so a picnic is always a fun activity to do. Inokashira park also has a lake, and you are able to ride swan boats and enjoy the beautiful scenery.
七井橋通り
井の頭公園で遊んだ後で、吉祥寺中央に行きながら、七井橋通りに行った方がいいと思います。井の頭公園に近く道です。その道は多くのオシャレな古着屋があります。その古着屋は安くて、かっこいい服を売ります。日本のファションだけじゃなくて、アメリカのファションも売るので、大きいサイズがあります。七位橋通りはカフェやレストランもあります。例えば、スターバックスとタピオカティーのカフェです。いつも賑やかなので、いい雰囲気があります。
After hanging out in Inokashira Park, and on the way to the centre of Kichijoji, you should go to Nanaibashi Dori. It is a street very close to Inokashira Park. This street has many stylish second-hand clothing shops. These shops sell cheap and very cool clothes. They not only sell Japanese fashion, but also American fashion, so therefore have larger sizes. There are also lots of cafes and restaurants on this street. For example, there is a Starbucks and also a bubble tea café. Due to the fact that this street is always busy, there is a very nice atmosphere.
一圓本店
お腹が空いている時に一圓本店は私のおすすめです。一圓本店はラーメンと御座のレストランです。すごく小さくて、伝統的なレストランなので、いい経験です。ジャンボ御座で有名だから、注文するのは必要です。一人で行ったら、ジャンボ御座だけ大丈夫だと思いますが、二人で二つのラーメンと一つのジャンボ御座はいいと思います。注文した後で、シェフが作るのは見えます。全部の食べ物はすごく美味しいです。
When you are hungry, my recommendation is Ichien Honten. Ichien Honten is a ramen and gyoza restaurant. It is an extremely small and traditional restaurant and therefore is a good experience. The restaurant is famous for their jumbo gyoza, so ordering them is a must. If you go by yourself, then the jumbo gyoza by itself is probably enough. But if two of you go together, I think getting a bowl of ramen each and then a jumbo gyoza to share would be the best. After you order the food, you can watch the chef make it in front of you. All the food is absolutely delicious.
Round 1
夕方にRound１はいいです。Round 1 はカラオケとかボウリングとかビリヤードとかアーケードゲームが出来る場所です。日本のチェーンなので、たくさんの街にRound１があります。吉祥寺のRound１は大きいアーケードがあって、いろいろなゲームをしてみたかったら、Round１で出来ます。朝の６時まで開いているので、長い時間楽しめます。
In the evening, Round 1 is a good place to go. Round 1 is a place where you can do karaoke, bowling, pool, or play arcade games. It is a Japanese chain and therefore there are Round 1s in many towns. In Kichijoji’s Round 1 there is a very large arcade, so if you want to try a variety of different arcade games, you can in Round 1. Since it is open until 6am in the morning, you can enjoy Round 1 for a very long time.
その日の後で、疲れているかもしれません。Round１から吉祥寺駅まで歩いて５分かかるので、大丈夫です。その日は楽しかったですか。吉祥寺にもう一度行きたかったら、成蹊大学で留学している学生と話して、おすすめを聞きますよ！
