What you should and shouldn't pack for Japan!・日本に持って行ったらいいもの・持っていかなくてもいいもの

日本の留学ことは本当にエキサイティングですけどもこわいそうです！このブログは便利な持って行くものや持っていかなくてもいいものについてです。読んだ後でスーツケースを梱包することは簡単になります！

先ず、日本に持って行ったらいいものです：

延長コード

延長コードはアパートに一番便利なことだと思います。出身からのエレクトロニクスを持って行って、例えばヘアドライヤーやストレートヘアアイロンなど、これらのものはコンセントの必要があります。たくさんアダプターがありますか。延長コードを持って行ったら、必要なアダプターは一つだけです！

USB電話充電器のケーブルとパワーバンク

日本に旅行中で携帯電話をよく使います。飛行機で音楽を聞いたり、飛行機が着陸が着陸した後でグーグルマップをチェックしたりすることをしたいですね。残念ながら、飛行機と日本で出身のコンセントを使いません。でもUSB電話充電器のケーブルとパワーバンクは世界中つかえます。どこにいても、携帯電話チャージできます。

寝具セット・ベッディングセット

次、大学によって、寝具セットの必要があるかもしれません。私は東京の上智大学で勉強して、アゼリアハウスで住んでいましたから、スコットランドから寝具セットを持って行かなければなりませんでした。しかし、他の大学で勉強していて、アゼリアハウスで住んでいた人は寝具セット買えました。梱包の前に、大学と連絡するほうがいいです。

最後は持っていかなくてもいいものです。

お菓子やスナック

私の意見では、出身からのお菓子屋やスナックをもって行くことは便利じゃないです。最初の二週間ぐらい、全部食べます。日本の駅やコンビニでたくさん面白くておいしいお菓子がありますから、新しいスナックを食べてみる方がいいです。それの上、飛行機でたくさん無料てべもの、例えばカップヌードルやキャンディーがあります。飛行機で自分の食べ物をあまり食べないと思います。

教科書

大学によって、違う教科書を使います。Tobiraを持って行く方がいいですが、Genkiや他の教科書を使いないかもしれないから、持って行かない方がいいと思います。大学の本屋で教科書が買えますけど、安くないです！一本は £20-30　ぐらいです。

Things you should and shouldn't take on your exchange to Japan

Going on an exchange to Japan is really exciting, but it can also seem quite scary! In this blog post I am going to talk about things which are useful to take with you, and things which are maybe not so useful to pack and waste a bit of space. After reading this blog, packing should be easy!

First up, things which are good to take to Japan:

Extension Lead

Taking an extension lead for your apartment is one of the most important things you can have in my opinion. If you have a lot of electronics from home, like a hairdryer or straighteners (but also just a laptop charger), they need to be plugged in. How many adapter plugs are you planning on taking with you? If you take an extension lead, you’ll only need one!

USB Phone Chargers and Power Bank

You’ll end up using your phone a ton when you’re travelling to Japan. Doing things like listening to music on the plane, or checking Google Maps when you get out of the airport will deplete your battery very fast. If you only have a plug in wall charger, you won’t be able to charge it until you get home, and can use an adapter. If you carry some USB chargers you can use these on most airplanes, and if you have a power bank you’ll be even more set. You can charge your phone anywhere in the world (and anything else which has a USB charger too!).

Bedding Pack

Depending on what university you study at, you may or may not need a bedding pack. I personally studied at Sophia University in Tokyo (Jouchi Daigaku), and stayed in Azalea House. Unfortunately this meant I had to take all my own bedding and towels with me. I had other friends living in the same apartment building as me, but who studied at different universities, and they could arrange for a bedding pack to be left in their room for a small fee - definitely worth it compared to bringing a whole extra suitcase! It’s a good idea to check with your university before packing.

Now things which aren’t so good to bring:

Sweets and Snacks

In my opinion, bringing snacks and sweets from home isn’t a good idea. It might seem good to stave off the homesickness, but you’ll probably end up eating everything in the first 2 weeks, then getting sad there’s nothing left. It’s a good idea to try some new snacks and candies, you can buy them everywhere from train stations, to convenience stores.

If you’re taking them to munch on the plane, you should know about all the snack options available there for free! I’ve flown to and from Japan many times, and there has always been an abundance of snacks. Cup noodles, candy like mentos and chocolate bars, crackers… There’s really no need to take your own, you won’t go hungry!

Textbooks

Depending on what university you study at, they all use different textbooks. It’s a good idea to take Tobira (that’s what your exams will be based off of when you get back!), but taking Genki and other Textbooks you might not use is a bit of a waste - they’re heavy! You can buy any textbooks you need from the university book-shop, but unfortunately they aren’t cheap. Each book can be around 20-30$!
