KGUの定期券と関西の旅行のカード

Commuting (for KGU students) and travelling (in Kansai)

For commuting travels to KGU you can get a commuter pass from the nearest station from your

accommodation to the station nearest to university.

KGU has an arrangement with the Hankyu railway for its students to be able to have this commuter pass. In order to get it, you must fill in a form provided by KGU and then bring it to the information office at the entrance of the station. The staff will then provide you with a new commuter pass. For the first time, in September, Japanese students from KGU will help you to buy it at the station and will provide you with all the information necessary.

You can buy a commuter pass for either one month or three months. The price will vary depending on the distance covered by your commuter pass. For instance, a commuter pass from the station near the international dorm in Takarazuka costs approximately 2000 yen for one month (which is about 13 pounds).

The commuter pass has your name on it and it is personal so it can only be used by you. This means that if you lose your commuter pass you should inform the information office at the station because they can block the use of the card so that no one will be able to use it anymore.

The other important card for commuting in Kansai is the ICOCA card.

This card can be purchased at the information office of train stations. You do not need to worry about this because KGU will provide you with an ICOCA card once you arrive. In order to be able to use it, you must charge money on it at the ticket machine either just before the station entrance or inside the station.

ICOCA card can be used for JR railways and other railways (for instance Hankyu railways), for subways and buses.

Other places in Japan use different commuting cards on which you might need to get more information depending on where you travel.

KGUに行くのために、定期券が払えます。自分の料理や家近く駅からKGUに近く駅まで旅行するのために使えます。定期券を払ったら、電車の値段が安くなります。

1ヶ月か３ヶ月の定期券があります。どこで住んでいるによって値段が違います。例えば、たからずかの留学生のドーミトリーで住んでいったら、１ヶ月で２０００円です。２０００円は１３ポンドです。

定期券に自分の名前を書いていますので、あなただけ使えます。だから、定期券を無くしたら、駅で駅員に言った方がいいです。この場合には、駅員はカードの使用をブロックできます。その後、誰もこのカードを使えません。

それに加えて、他の大切な旅行のカードはICOCAカードです。ICOCAは関西に旅行するのために使えます。

駅で買えます。KGUに勉強したら、９月にKGUはICOCAカードをくれるから、自分で買わなくてもいいです。でも、使う前に、駅でICOCAカードでお金を込めなければなりません。

ICOCAカードはJRや他の電車の会社会(例えば、阪急電車)やバスや地下鉄などで使えます。
