Weeks 3 & 4 of Autumn Semester

It's already the end of September, making this Week 4 of the J-YAP IUSP Autumn Semester!

The main sessions currently on offer are as follows (all times UK time):

• Tuesdays 16:00-17:00: Yagioka Seminar (Upper Int. Level・Yukie Yagioka)

• Tuesdays 17:30-18:30: Let's Speak Japanese! (Lower Int. Level・Yumiko Schumacher)

• Wednesdays (irregular schedule) 10:00-11:00: Language Exchange (All Levels Welcome・Japanese Students Welcome・Tomoko Fujita)

• Final Wednesday Each Month 10:00-11:00: Let's Try it in Japanese! (All Levels Welcome・Japanese Students Welcome・Hiroe Okamoto)

• Thursdays 14:00-15:00: Chat Club (Lower Int. Level・Japanese Students Welcome・Mihoko Noguchi)

• Fridays 13:00-14:00: Virtual Study Abroad (Upper Int. Level・Japanese Students Welcome・Keiko Kelly）

The beady-eyed among you may have noticed that there is one new session among these: Tomoko Fujita's Language Exchange. We are delighted to be including this additional opportunity for students to hone their speaking skills, with Fujita-sensei kindly offering this session on weeks which would otherwise see no lessons on Wednesdays.

In others news, the J-YAP IUSP Project Members have had a busy few weeks, presenting at both the 23rd BATJ Annual Conference and the Year Abroad Conference 2021. In addition to being opportunities to introduce the J-YAP IUSP project as a whole, these conferences were also valuable chances to share the group's newly released guidelines, a project funded by the BATJ addressing various points for those setting up similar online learning programmes, particularly in terms of how best to protect personal information and participant privacy.
