Privacy Notice

J-YAP IUSP Privacy Notice

The information you provide will be used by the project members of the participating institutions (alphabetical order: Cardiff, Durham, Edinburgh, Leeds, Newcastle, Regents, SOAS) of the J-YAP Inter-University Support Programme Project (J-YAP IUSP hereafter) to administer your online session attendance as well as to gather feedback to improve our services and for strategic planning. 

J-YAP IUSP uses the following external services: Wix for the project website to provide information on J-YAP IUSP online teaching sessions, events and study resources for students and staff; Zoom and Blackboard Collaborate for synchronous live sessions; and Eventbrite and Microsoft Forms to administer online session attendance and to send the event details and post-event survey invitations by email on behalf of the event organisers of J-YAP IUSP. 

The project members remain responsible for the information and will ensure it is kept securely. The personal data we will collect is your name, affiliated institution, email address andyear at university. This is gathered through the membership registration process and and via event booking forms. 


Data regarding your IP address(es), Cookies, location data, Internet browser andoperating system(s) will be also collected by Wix, Zoom, Eventbrite and Microsoft Forms. Please refer to each service’s relevant Privacy Notice:

This information is used only for their services and we have no intention to use such data for our project.


By signing up as a member via the J-YAP IUSP website, this indicates your consent to participate in online sessions subject to the privacy policies above. 


Your personal information will be shared with only J-YAP IUSP project members, and you have the right to withdraw your consent at any time. 

The collected information is also needed for teaching, which is part of the core functions of the participating institutions.

The processing of your data will have no impact on the outcome of any of your current or future grades of the courses at your home institution.


We will hold the personal data you provided us until the end of your degree programme (i.e. July 2022 or July 2023). After this period, we will remove you from our contact database. 

 
We do not use profiling or automated decision-making processes.
