Week 7: 102 Sessions & Counting!

Updated: Mar 12, 2021

This week, the total number of sessions delivered via J-YAP IUSP surpassed 100!

With the current run of teaching and other events due to finish at the end of March, this felt like a nice point at which to quietly celebrate the great many hours put in by students, teachers and careers talk contributors since the start of the project. Our thanks goes out once again to all of those who have made it possible!

In the past week, the following sessions were held as part of the regular J-YAP IUSP schedule:

  • N2 Intensive Course: Learn from a JLPT Exam Invigilator (Yukie Yagioka)

  • Pre-Intermediate Japanese Conversation: Yagioka Seminar (Yukie Yagioka | This Week's Theme: Sweets)

  • Upper Intermediate Japanese Conversation: Practical Japanese(Hiroe Okamoto | This Week's Theme: Let's Speak to Japanese University Students)

  • N3 Intensive Course: This Week's Theme: "Dekakeru" - Kanji, Vocab and Grammar (Yumiko Schumacher)

  • Upper Intermediate Japanese Conversation: Riko-chan House (Riko Sherratt)

Coming up later this month is a special event held in collaboration with Regent's University London and Keele University, A Career in the Foreign Office: What it's really like to be a diplomat, in which Carolyn Davidson, the British Consul-General Designate Osaka, Japan, will discuss her extensive experience within the FCDO. We look forward to this being an excellent opportunity for students with an interest in a career in diplomacy or related fields to hear all that Ms Davidson has to share about her time in Japan as well as elsewhere in the world.
