Week 6 & Launch Party Announcement

Before we take a look at what's on in Week 6 of the J-YAP IUSP Autumn Semester, we have a quick announcement, namely...

Friday 29th October will be the J-YAP IUSP Launch Party! 🎉🎉

To celebrate the fact that we are able to continue sessions and create a fun social space for all involved, we are holding this online party for students, teachers and project members alike. The event will feature a quiz on Japanese dialects and regions for students to try their hand at, with a prize for the winning team. In order to include students at Japanese universities, the event time is set to 12:00-13:00 UK time.

Now, without further ado, what do we have coming up in Week 6?

Monday 11th

This Monday is a quiet one, with no lessons scheduled. Next week, however, be sure to make time for Fumiko Narumi-Munro's Tsugaru Dialect Workshop, featuring special guest speaker from Niigata University, Minako Ota.

Tuesday 12th

This week, Yukie Yagioka explores the topic of music in her popular Yagioka Seminar. Students who enjoy this session may also want to try out Yumiko Schumacher's lovely Let's Speak Japanese!

Wednesday 13th

While there are sadly no sessions scheduled for this particular Wednesday, keep an eye out for Tomoko Fujita's Language Exchange and Hiroe Okamoto's Let's Try it Japanese coming up soon.

Thursday 7th

Thursday features Mihoko Noguchi's weekly Chat Club, which like Fujita Tomoko's Language Exchange also welcomes students from Japanese universities and provides a space for conversation practice.

Friday 8th

Last but not least, we finish the week with Keiko Kelly's innovative Virtual Study Abroad course, which gives students the chance to experience elements of the Japanese study abroad experience - even from the UK or beyond.
