Week 5: All Things Japanese Language

While the J-YAP IUSP schedule is naturally filled with all things Japanese, Week 5 saw a particularly language-focused week, including a second talk on Japanese linguistics.

The full week looked a little like this:

• Upper Intermediate Japanese: Conversation Class (Kazumi Tanaka, SOAS)

• Upper Intermediate Japanese: Let's Speak Positive Japanese (Ritsuko Koso-Kirk)

• Pre-Intermediate Japanese: Conversation Class (Yumiko Schumacher)

• Riko-chan House: a further opportunity for intermediate/advanced learners to develop their Japanese speaking skills (Riko Sherratt)

• Basic Introduction to Japanese Linguistics (Part 2): an introduction to fundamental features of Japanese linguistics (Dr Michael Tsang, University of Newcastle)

• Shaberiba - Free Conversation with Japanese Students: a forum for interaction between students in the UK and Japan (Mayuko Inagawa)
