As Week 2 of the official J-YAP IUSP 2020-2021 Sessions draws to a close, we thought it was time to look back on all that was on offer this past week.
With a lot going on behind the scenes to pull together many further events covering Japanese language, culture and more, we were delighted to welcome students to online sessions including:
Japanese Dialect Workshop: Tsugaru-ben: an introduction by Fumiko Narumi-Munro of the University of Edinburgh to this Aomori dialect not typically heard in your standard Japanese classroom.
Riko-chan House: a new session designed to create conversation between students and provide a chance to explore topics and questions brought along by participants themselves.
With next week seeing the start of two long-term sessions aimed specifically at elementary/intermediate and intermediate/advanced learners respectively, the J-YAP IUSP calendar is filling up nicely! Keep an eye out for a further update next week.
