As tomorrow is the first official day of spring by the Japanese calendar, it feels like a fitting moment to check in with where the J-YAP IUSP Spring Semester is up to so far.
This week, we saw Nishikawa-sensei's course "What to Say When" starting its twice-weekly schedule with a look at the topics of hometowns and jobs.
Also this week was the first of Okamoto-sensei's "Let's Try N3!" course, in which students learnt about the N3 grammar point さえ (sae) from the popular Kenshi Yonezu song "Lemon".
Finally, we would like to extend our thanks to Alex Boorman and Zoë Vincent for speaking to their kōhai about their respective careers, including their experiences of the JET Programme. The event, taking place on Saturday 29th January, was one of several we have been able to offer in the past year or so, and as always it was well attended by J-YAP IUSP students.
There is a lot more going on this semester, with further events yet to be announced, so be sure to check back for further updates!
