This update comes on a Wednesday rather than the usual Friday, as this is in fact the final day of our current term. For the month of April, J-YAP IUSP will officially be on spring holiday!
Over the weekend, an End of Term Celebration was held over Zoom, with students rising to the challenge of a quiz featuring questions on festivals and celebrities from different regions of Japan. Congratulations to the Udon Team for seizing 1st Place, and to Team W for a very respectable 2nd Place!
Before rounding up the sessions from the last few days of this term, we would like to say a special thank you to Yukie Yagioka for providing a whole three hours of teaching this week, including a mock JLPT N2 exam condensed into a third of its usual length - an excellent opportunity for students to put their skills to the test.
The following sessions were held from Monday to Wednesday this week:
Shaberiba: Language Exchange with Japanese Students (Yumiko Schumacher | This Week's Theme: Recent Trends, Popular Things)
N2 Intensive Course: Learn from a JLPT Exam Invigilator (Yukie Yagioka | Today's Focus: Reading)
Pre-Intermediate Japanese Conversation: Yagioka Seminar (Yukie Yagioka | This Week's Theme: Tea)
N3 Intensive Course: Hiroe Okamoto
N2 Intensive Course: Learn from a JLPT Exam Invigilator (Yukie Yagioka | Mock Exam
Upper Intermediate Japanese Conversation: Riko-chan House (Riko Sherratt)
We may be off for our spring holiday, but J-YAP IUSP will be back in one form or another from May onwards. Keep an eye out for updates coming in the near future!
